Accessible Travel

El Paso International Airport (ELP) prioritizes accessibility as a fundamental part of the travel experience, ensuring a seamless journey for passengers with disabilities and their families. We provide a range of services and accessible facilities to support travel planning, eliminate barriers, and enhance comfort. Your accessibility needs are our top priority.

ADA & Title VI Policy

It is unlawful for airport operators, lessees, tenants, concessionaires, and contractors to discriminate against any person based on race, color, national origin, sex, creed, or disability in public services and employment opportunities. Allegations of discrimination should be reported promptly using the form below.

Airline Passengers with Disabilities Bill of Rights

The Airline Passengers with Disabilities Bill of Rights describes the fundamental rights of air travelers with disabilities under the Air Carrier Access Act and its implementing regulation. This easy-to-use summary will empower travelers to understand their rights and help the travel industry uphold those rights.

Aira Services for BLV (Blind and Low Vision)


ELP offers Aira subscribers free access to Aira services while traveling through this airport. For more information on Aira, visit the following link: Aira at ELP or Visual Interpreting – Get Live, On-demand Access to Visual Information (aira.io).

Parking

The short-term lot has 36 accessible parking spaces marked with the International Symbol of Access, the long-term lot has 39, and the west lot has 4, overflow long-term has 56 and Premium has 18 each of the lots exceeds the required 1 per 50 spaces to ensure passengers have plenty of available accessible parking spaces. Courtesy shuttles are equipped with a lift.

Restrooms

Airport restrooms are wheelchair-accessible, and family restrooms that accommodate companion care are located throughout the airport. See the terminal directory for locations.

Security Screening

The Transportation Security Administration has established TSA Cares to provide additional assistance during the security screening process to travelers with disabilities, medical conditions, and other special circumstances.  Contact TSA Cares at least 72 hours before traveling with questions about screening policies and procedures and what to expect at the security checkpoint.  Contact information and call-in hours for TSA Cares can be found at this link: https://www.tsa.gov/travel/passenger-support

Service Animals

Service animals are welcomed at the airport.  A Service Animal Relief Area (SARA)  is located in the short-term parking lot across from the ticketing entrance and in Concourse B, post-security checkpoint. To protect working animals and their handlers, all pets and emotional support animals must always be in a crate or on a leash while within the terminal.  Pets and emotional support animals may use the SARA. 

Sunflower Lanyard

The Sunflower Layard is an awareness program that encourages customers with non-visible disabilities to discretely notify staff. Our staff members are trained to assist customers with disabilities. To request a Sunflower Lanyard, please email [email protected] with your mailing address.  Lanyards will be made available while supplies last.

Transportation

Wheelchair Assistance

Wheelchair service is provided by airlines for passengers and should be requested when booking travel but may also be requested at the ticket counter during the airline's operational hours.  See Here for list of Airlines.

Courtesy Cart

A courtesy cart is available in Concourse B, it operates Mondays through Fridays from 4:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. and is available for all passengers with mobility issues.
