El Paso International Airport (EPIA) is presently undergoing a federally mandated master plan update. Airport master plans are prepared to support the modernization or expansion of existing facilities or the creation of new ones. An airport master plan is a comprehensive study of an airport and usually describes the short, medium, and long-term development plans to meet future aviation demand. Typically, a master plan update is conducted every 10 years. EPIA’s last update occurred in December 2005.
